- Engineering
- Engineering is the application of technical and scientific information, in order to implement new designs in materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and procedures that realize a set objective under specified guidelines and criteria. Advances in this field are used to improve lifestyles through innovations that make daily living more practical, efficient and safer. Engineering is traditionally classified into five different branches. These branches are: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. However, with rapid advancements in technology, other engineering branches are being recognized, such as Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Molecular Engineering, Mechatronics and Nanotechnology, to name a few.
The field of Engineering can be seen as combination of firm applications of technical and scientific knowledge, economics and art. People interested in pursuing this field should not only be skilled in Mathematics and Science, they should also have an acute sense for practicality while possessing enough creativity and imagination to come up with new and innovative ideas.
